Gmail IMAP arrives with soaring success!

iphone October 24th, 2007

+1 to Google for delivering what the public asked, IMAP support for Gmail. This is especially awesome for us iPhone users, trying to use pop3 for gmail was just not an option on the iphone.

Head into your settings and see if you have an option to enable IMAP, if not just be patient and try again later.

Google has put up a FAQ for IMAP that should answer all your questions.

They did miss a few settings to properly setup the MobileMail.app on the iPhone, instead of typing it all out I’ll redirect you to someone who has already taken the time to right up a good set of instructions.

The last car detailing of the season

projects October 23rd, 2007

So how much time is too much time spent when it comes to cleaning your car? For me there doesn’t seem to be a limit, lol Last weekend I cleaned a little sat night, then spent all day sunday, and I mean ALL day sunday cleaning my car.

Am I obsessed with a clean car? Might be a fine line, I really enjoy the way a clean car looks and smells, but this was the first time I’ve ever really cleaned the interior of this car in over a year. I think a habit I inherited from my mother is once I start cleaning, I keep cleaning until the job is completely done, no half ass jobs.

My experience jailbreaking iPhone v1.1.1

iphone October 19th, 2007

Well I finally got the nerve to upgrade and jailbreak my iPhone last night. I held off this long to let the ripples in the water settle encase there were any problems with the new 1.1.1 jailbreak. I had also hoped for a simpler method to be cooked up, but alas 1.1.1 jailbreaking is not for the faint of heart.

If you are planning on jailbreaking your 1.1.1 iPhone my first words of wisdom are read, read, and re-read all the instructions. Go over every step of the process and make sure you 100% understand what you are suppose to do. Here are the instructions I used.

My trials and tribulations after the jump…

Another awesome bit of news from the mouth of Mr. Jobs.

Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users.

Xbox 360 PGR4: What PGR3 should have been

games October 8th, 2007

I’ve been a long time Project Gotham Racing fan, I’ve clocked far more hours on the 4 PGR games over the years than I can imagine. The first PGR for the Xbox 1 had some nice graphics for its day, but the realism in the car handling and control wasn’t quite there.

Then came PGR2 and with it the endless hours of playing cat and mouse, last man standing, and orbital launching of cars. By far this single game was played the most on my original Xbox 1. If they took PGR2 verbatim and just updated the graphics for the Xbox 360 it would probably be my favorite PGR game of all.

PGR3 was an utter and complete let down, I think it saw maybe an hour of gameplay in my 360. Horrible gameplay, and they ruined our cat and mouse, last man standing free gameplay that we came to adore in PGR2. Sure the graphics were awesome on the 360, but they completely missed the mark on this one.

PGR4 - Test TrackJust a few days ago the last installment of the PGR line (PGR4) was released, and the best way I can describe it is “What PGR3 should have been”. They got it right this time, still wish there was a way to turn off ghosting for our beloved cat and mouse matches, but we can live without that. Graphics are top notch on a 1080p screen, gameplay is back to PGR2 days, great job Bizzare!

PGR4 - Bike tricksOh how could I forget the addition of bikes to PGR4? I could live without them, not fast enough on straight aways and very hard to control. Leave the bikes to motogp please.
